Bye Bye Birdie! Yanks Blast Birds

Commentary:

Hope the creative title makes up for no commentary tonight--not enough time.  See below for grades and weather.

Grades:

Offense:  A-  7 runs on 12 hits is a good nights work but would have liked to have seen some production in later innings to warrant an A or A+.  No major complaints except that Granderson went 0-3 and his average now sits at .156--streaky so far this season.  Speaking of averags, A-Rod leads the team with .355.

Starting Pitching (Burnett):  B+  Cant boost it into the A range because of the 4 runs he gave up in the 7th but he struck out 5 in 6.1 IP and threw 112 pitches.  The strong start to the season continues although he still seems to have mental lapses at points.

Bullpen:  A+  One hit given up by Soriano and that was it.  Robertson did a masterful job in the 7th and Mo got the usual 1-2-3 ninth..

Weather for Tomorrow's Matchup (vs. Orioles):

The Yanks conclude their rain shortened series tomorrow evening and the forecast is looking gorgeous.  Simply a splendid spring evening across the tri-state area with a light wind and partly cloudy skies.  Bring a light jacket with you for the end of the game.

Game Time Conditions (7:05pm):  Partly cloudy with a light breeze.  Temperature of 58 degrees.

Verification of Yesterday's Forecast:

Forecast Temp: 51
Observed Temp: 49
Forecast Conditions: Cloudy, cool, and damp with a shower early.
Observed Conditions:  Cloudy, cool, and damp with mist/drizzle.
